What road to take – Sometimes I just don’t know

Sometimes I don’t know which road I should take.  It gets especially challenging when I allow the voices of past failures to challenge my plans for a New Beginning – or perhaps a Do Over!

My 2015 year-end sabbatical came early.  Early Fall after a cross-country RV adventure, I came face-to-face with all the exits and detours that had slowly moved me away from God’s next best step in my life.  Yes, even good choices can keep us from God’s BEST choice.  Facing your choices, embracing and learning from the good and the bad – that’s all part of our life story.   Our Life Story Matters.

Fear, uncertainty and doubt – they form a team that attempts to stop us in our tracks.  Their goal is our failure.  But God…  He says “Be not afraid.  I go before you always.” Joshua 1:9

I’m reminded of the lyrics of Casting Crown’s  “Voice of Truth”.

But the voice of truth tells me a different story

And the voice of truth says, “Do not be afraid!”

And the voice of truth says, “This is for My glory”

As I walked through this time of reflection I met my next best step immediately followed by my own inadequacy.   I shared my doubts with my best friend – my husband Paul.  His response was this quote:

“It’s a terrible thing, I think, in life to wait until you’re ready. I have this feeling now that actually no one is ever ready to do anything. There is almost no such thing as ready. There is only now. And you may as well do it now. Generally speaking, now is as good a time as any.”  ― Hugh Laurie

My next best step continues to be encouraging and challenging you – my friends, clients and followers to seek God’s purpose for your life and take action toward it.  Your purpose matters!  God has asked me to develop and use my gift of communication through writing.  This post has been three months in the making.  I’m confident.  God calls. God equips.

This post is for you.  What is God asking you to do next?  Whose voice do you hear?  Whose voice will you follow?  Praying you be filled with hope, faith, courage and determination to make that next move.  Remember…

Someone is waiting for you to show up in the fullness of God’s calling. ~ Coach Maggie
