Dancing on the edge of truth – the battle between hope and doubt. We’ve all done it at one time or another. Deep within us we know there is something more. We notice it in others or perhaps it’s that quiet voice inside that tugs at our heart and whispers “Don’t Settle”.
Could this really be for me? Excitement builds as we give ourselves permission to explore the possibilities. Hope shows up. For many, just as quickly, Doubt shows up as well. Suddenly aware of the possible disappointment – that this is simply a lie – we begin to hope that this truth will happen to us and without effort.
But what about the cost? There is always a cost. Change requires that we let go of the old as we clear a space for the new. We begin to wrestle. Cheerleaders and Naysayers show up in our thoughts. The battle ensues…
Don’t Settle – Is this message for you? Some may have buried themselves so deeply in their comfort zone that they don’t even realize that there is something more. Others reading this know this message is for them. The timing is right for this next step on their journey.
Spiritually speaking… I can’t imagine how anyone could move forward without a faith foundation. The Voice of Truth – faith – is a gift from God. (Eph 2:8) His truth unfolds when we take the first step to believe in His Son Jesus. Our future (this life and beyond) opens up for us as we begin to walk out this new journey. Because of my own faith, when I hear the words “don’t settle”. I can test them against God’s Word. What does God’s Word say about this?
These thoughts (timeless) were birthed from a quiet place on my 2015 Cross-Country RV Connect Tour. Suddenly surprised by a lack of connectivity to my everyday life I was forced to stop and listen to that still small voice inside. “Don’t Settle”. I wrestled with the doubt that tried to rob me of hope. The prize? The hope of this next stop on my journey was far greater than what I knew I would have to leave behind

Is this message for you? Test it against God’s truth. Ask God and ask yourself:
- Why does it matter that I not settle?
- Who will benefit if I step out in faith?
- Is not the prize worth the cost?
