Leaders Catch People Doing Something Right

Perspective… Is this cute pug stealing the shoe or picking it up for the owner?

As a leader, are you in the habit of catching people doing something wrong or doing something right? Some of you are tempted to ignore this post because you don’t see yourself as a leader. Consider what John Maxwell has to say… “Leadership is not about titles, positions or flowcharts. It is about one life influencing another.”

Leaders, those of us who understand our role as influencers – are in the habit of noticing people.

Rekindle the Romance – Fall in Love Again Part 5

Are you hooked on romance? A chic flick junkie? I admit that I love a good story – a happily ever after. How about you? How about those sad love songs like the one that’s playing in my head right now: You’ve Lost That Loving Feeling.  Yes, I’m dating myself.  I can hear the Righteous Brothers singing their 1964 recording… “and it’s gone, gone, gone.” My younger audience will have to google it and the rest of us won’t be able to get the tune out of our heads for a while.

Whether you are in a relationship now or simply enjoy living through the characters in a good romance, I invite you to continue reading. I believe there is something here for everyone.

Today I Begin Again

New day and new year, today I begin again. Beginnings are my specialty. I love the magic of uncharted territories – the hope that fuels a fresh new start. Even as a child I could hardly wait for the first day of school. With my fresh untouched school supplies I looked forward to an unpredictable school year.

Carried into adult life, I approach life in the same way. Monday mornings are my opportunity to do-over, do-better or do-differently. For each new month and now a new year, I set goals. I’m confident that “this time I’ll succeed.”

Change is my addiction of choice.

Fall in Love Again – Remember Why You Started

Ideas flow continually in my busy mind. Sometimes they just fly by – a faint whisper in the wind – gone forever. What was that thought, I wonder. Oh well, not to worry, there will be another. The words fall in love again however, just won’t go away. They not only surface when I least expect them, they bring with them a deep longing.

High Five or Not?

Oh look, a bird!  These are the only words I remember from my college professor’s description of my personality traits. It fits me perfectly.  Distractions often rob me of the value of the present.  According to my assessment results, I’m described as enthusiastic, imaginative, energetic, creative, warm, future-oriented, caring, optimistic, possibility focused, open, spontaneous and playful.

Some of you relate. In fact, I imagine us sharing some high fives as we celebrate

Whatever… Is it time to empty your Whatever folder?

I took a walk down memory lane this morning in search of an old post in my Life Coach Maggie Facebook Page.  This took me down several bunny trails – some of you, like me,  travel those trails frequently.  As happens often, I got distracted and quite frankly can’t remember what I was searching for to begin with.  Instead, I ran across one of my early live Facebook videos.   While still an amateur at this, I chose to share it here because the message is worth repeating.
