Aging – What’s life got to do with it?

Aging is a given. Life without purpose and meaning is not. You wouldn’t show up at your job and just hang around until it was time to go home –just filling space.

Jesus tells us in John 10:10 that He came that we would have and enjoy life – in abundance – to overflowing. So, I ask, how’s life working for you? When you walk into a room, do you know that you make a difference? Is your abundance showing or are you just taking up space?

Rekindle the Romance – Fall in Love Again Part 5

Are you hooked on romance? A chic flick junkie? I admit that I love a good story – a happily ever after. How about you? How about those sad love songs like the one that’s playing in my head right now: You’ve Lost That Loving Feeling.  Yes, I’m dating myself.  I can hear the Righteous Brothers singing their 1964 recording… “and it’s gone, gone, gone.” My younger audience will have to google it and the rest of us won’t be able to get the tune out of our heads for a while.

Whether you are in a relationship now or simply enjoy living through the characters in a good romance, I invite you to continue reading. I believe there is something here for everyone.

That Place In Between – Now What?

Year-end holidays are over; a new year has begun. Many resume their daily routines. Yet others find themselves in that place in between. Unsettled they rummage through the pieces of their life, trying to find some order and purpose to it all. Worry tries to rob them of any forward movement – any steps toward God’s best for them.

I’ve been in that now what? place – more than once in my life. Heart-broken, disappointed and lacking self-confidence I stumbled through false starts.

Rekindle the Wonder

Memories flood most of us during this time of year. We begin by remembering Jesus’s birth – the true reason for this season. Gratitude and awe at the humility of our King of Kings – who was born in a manger – and purposed to live so He could die to bring those who believe eternal life with Him.

“For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” ~ Isaiah 9:6 NKJV

Mind Your Own Normal – Fall in Love Again Part 4

My new normal, is a popular expression that implies that what once was out of the norm is now considered normal. It’s about changes. We change our mind – how we see things. We change our actions – new habits, behaviors, where we live, who we live with and so much more. These changes can happen to us or we can choose to make them happen. The result is the same – life as we knew it is no longer.

Every positive change in your life begins with a clear, unequivocal decision that you are going to either do something or stop doing something. ~ Anonymous

When You Don’t Know What to Say

I’m a communicator by nature… all about significance and purpose, inspiring others to take action.  Lately I just don’t have it in me. I sit at my keyboard wondering what value I have to offer my readers and I come up empty. It’s not the first time I’ve walked through a dry creative season.  Experience tells me it won’t last long.  I’m guessing some of you can relate.

Fall in Love Again – Remember Why You Started

Ideas flow continually in my busy mind. Sometimes they just fly by – a faint whisper in the wind – gone forever. What was that thought, I wonder. Oh well, not to worry, there will be another. The words fall in love again however, just won’t go away. They not only surface when I least expect them, they bring with them a deep longing.

Do You See What I See?

Lord, give me eyes to see, ears to hear and a heart that loves – a big prayer – one I pray often for myself and others. On the surface it might appear somewhat general in nature. What or whom are we to see, hear or love? Why ask?

It’s about living on purpose…
I am convinced, backed by personal experience, that if I ignore God’s purpose for my life I will make a mess of my story. I have not always prayed for direction, waited for a response and acted on it. Truth. I have not always sought His will.  How did that work for you Maggie? you might ask.
