Cafecito – Where It All Began

Where it all began… Before I go there let’s talk about today.

Do you have someone in your life that is unexpected? An unlikely confidant?

Someone who meets you at your place of need?

Someone who accepts you “as is” in the middle of your life struggles?

Write The Prayer

Jesus finds us even when we are trying to hide.

God speaks to us in so many ways and often through unusual sources. Those who are highly religious might not understand what I refer to as God ah-ha moments. But those who have a relationship – an intimate friendship with Jesus – well, we get that He wastes nothing.

What’s in Your Shoe?

Do you have a favorite pair of shoes? You’ve worn them so often that they’ve lost that perfect fit. Perhaps the lining has loosened and rubs against your skin causing irritation and maybe even pain. The fashion conscious may have purchased shoes that were in style but too tight; you just had to have them. Your plan was to stretch them out during short painful walks.

Ridiculously Committed

Set a goal SO BIG that you can’t achieve until you grow into the person who can.” – Unknown

For as long as I can remember my dream was to become a writer. What does that look like? Why a writer? To be honest, I never thought beyond those words. I just knew that I had to write. It was in the doing that purpose would show up. I guess if I looked behind the curtain (my wall of insecurity), I would admit that I wanted to be published. I wanted my words to matter – to make a difference in someone’s life.

This! What if This

I was thinking… My thoughts meandered through a maze of uncertainty. Some were facts. Most were questions. Too much thinking but not enough of the good thoughts – all of this was taking me down a path that would only lead to a victim mentality. But then God – a diversion – I started to recall that He said I have a purpose and that it matters and that I am to do something about it. He promised.

Commitment Leads the Way

Why is it that we often save our best hopes and dreams for Someday? Someday gets pushed aside in favor of today. Tomorrow teases us with possibilities but once we arrive – suddenly Today takes over one more time. All this to say that without a firm commitment – a definite YES! – Someday will never deliver on its promises.

Your Door. Open It.

We ask God for open doors.  He complies but we just don’t recognize it. We ask for a sign. Imagine a bright shining light on the doorknob and still… we hesitate to open the door. Seriously – what are we waiting for? A personal escort? Guess what – we have ONE. He promises He will be with us always. He said: “…And never forget that I am with you every day, even to the completion of this age.” –Matt 28:20 TPT

Let’s Get Personal. (uh-oh)

Someday Dreams – Check for Expiration Date

Mind Your Own Normal – Fall in Love Again Part 4

My new normal, is a popular expression that implies that what once was out of the norm is now considered normal. It’s about changes. We change our mind – how we see things. We change our actions – new habits, behaviors, where we live, who we live with and so much more. These changes can happen to us or we can choose to make them happen. The result is the same – life as we knew it is no longer.

Every positive change in your life begins with a clear, unequivocal decision that you are going to either do something or stop doing something. ~ Anonymous
