Treadmill Faith takes me through, under, over and around the obstacles that rise to try to silence my voice, my purpose. How to describe it? These words come to mind: relentless, persevering, doubtless, confident, unending, bold, purposed, steadfast, solitary, repetitious, challenging.
Treadmill speaks to those times when we are “waiting” for God’s answer when the treadmill journey can seem quite monotonous and continuous. We are tempted to ask “What’s the point? How much longer?” That’s when faith kicks in. Faith, believing what we cannot see, is about the integrity of God’s Word. It also has to do with confidence, assuredness, outside the box type of thinking.
Combined these words describe an “against all odds” approach to walking out your purpose and calling.
How has this played out in my life? So many stories come to mind; the common thread has been the courage to start over because God said so. From divorce, illness, job loss, business loss and most recently caregiving/grieving the loss of my parents…it’s all been the same. It was just a season.
We cannot be unstoppable if we don’t know who we are, what we believe and where we’re going. Without a future vision, what would be the point of our day-to-day?
“But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.” Isaiah 40:31
