Vision Leads

Vision Leads… What do your eyes of faith see? Are you willing to take that next step?

The last few days have been a time of refueling – spiritually and mentally.  Also, a time to explore next steps in my ministry. Tomorrow is the last day of the annual Speak Up Conference – my happy place. I’m with my people (virtually of course) – writers, speakers, ministry leaders – all committed to seeking and living out God’s purpose for their lives. Zoom video conferencing has opened the door for international participation – a multi-cultural experience. That’s just the way God likes it, His children collaborating on how best to serve Him.

What Do My Eyes of Faith See?

It’s time to dust off my book manuscript and get it done. That much I see. God said so. I’ve learned to be ok with not seeing the full picture. It’s on a need to know basis and well, apparently, I don’t need to know. His blanket of peace over me assures me that no matter the world noise that surrounds us, I’m to stay the course.

Am I Willing to take that Next Step?

Yes.

Vision leads to venture, and history is on the side of venturesome faith. The person of vision takes fresh steps of faith across gullies and chasms, not “playing safe” but neither taking foolish risks. ~ J Oswald Sanders

Am I Tempted to Give Up?

Here’s an excerpt from my book:

Before I succeeded, I wanted to give up…

In our life stories, no matter how well-planned or well-prayed, there may be seasons where we suddenly can’t seem to keep up with it all. No sooner do we address one issue, when another seems to rival for our attention. Intellectually and spiritually, we may know how to overcome the obstacles, however our emotions have taken over. Perhaps we are wearing the garment of self-pity and find we are stuck, paralyzed to take any action.

Have you made the decision to move from where you are today to a more vibrant on-purpose life? Perhaps you are in survival mode and the word “vibrant” is not necessarily a goal. It certainly wasn’t for me back then – in fact, giving up started to show some appeal. Let’s not give up.

2019 was a difficult (understated) year in our family. Just when we thought life was settling down, March 2020 reared its ugly head. We are all in this 2020 season together.  Let’s stay focused on God’s vision for our lives. Whether we are following a dream or simply trying to survive, we can ask God for eyes to see beyond our current circumstance and then take that next step.
