Someone is Dying to Hear…

Someone is dying to hear what you have to say”, these are words I shared with a fellow writer recently. Most know the idiomatic expression – dying to – means to be very eager. It’s a light and carefree expression that speaks of enthusiasm and anticipation.

But what if it were true? What if there was someone who was dying emotionally, spiritually, or physically, and you held the key to their very next decision? Perhaps you are thinking, ”What are you saying Maggie? I’m not that important. That’s too big a responsibility. I’m just me.” In a recent article, I Know What To Do – I Just Need To Do It published in Chispa Magazine, I wrote “Let me suggest that your goal is probably not big enough. I encourage you to kick it up from big to BIGGER to God size! If God called you to it – then it matters.”

How Big is God Size?

When we set a God size goal we absolutely believe – no doubts – that someone will be positively influenced by the result. How many? That’s up to God. We show up regardless of the outcome. We show up in God’s confidence, knowing He will do immeasurably more than we can think or imagine.

Someone is waiting for you to show up in the fullness of your calling. --Coach Maggie Click To Tweet

The writer I referred to in the first sentence of this post, has had to bare her heart – her story – in her book-in-process. It’s a sacrifice to humble yourself before your reader – to offer less of you and in turn offer how great is our God. It’s worth it. Her story matters and may help someone else in a similar circumstance. Will it be a best seller? That’s up to God. He shows up through our obedience – He changes us. We may be the only person meant to benefit from our obedience. Wow!  That’s truly letting go of the outcome isn’t it?

What Does My God Call Look Like?

The simplest answer is… just show up as you. Your life story matters. As they say, your reputation precedes you. What message do you send the world just by showing up? Sometimes just sharing the title of a good book, a movie, a scripture, a recent ah-ha moment, may be the key to someone else’s breakthrough.  Be generous in sharing how God has shown up in your life. Pay it forward.

One of my health coaching clients has lost over 25 lbs. and celebrates many non-scale victories such as… clothes hang loosely, more energy – “I don’t huff and puff when walking from my car in the parking lot to the store.”, I’m sleeping longer and better, others are noticing… and so much more. She is shy about sharing her success with others. Only those in her immediate circle are starting to notice. I wonder – you, my reader – do you know someone who might be encouraged by her story? What challenges has she overcome to achieve this level of success? I’m guessing at least one of you wants to know. If that’s you – please comment below or write to me. I’ll pass this information on to encourage her to be bold and share her story.

Some look for a grandiose purpose. I know that when I started taking my baby steps of faith and realized God had a purpose for me – well I saw myself on stage commanding a large audience (like Joyce Meyer).  While I have spoken in front of large-to-me audiences (over 600) I’ve learned that the size of my audience is not my purpose. My purpose is to communicate the fact that you – each person – matter. I’m to also tell you that God said so and to challenge and motivate you to do something about it. I accomplish this by using my gifts, talents, life stories and staying alert to opportunities to share. I am intentional about making a difference because I know that I do. Not being prideful. God said so and I give Him all the credit.

As you begin to tell your story – however you communicate it – God will open your eyes to your next best step. This only happens when you are in motion. Obedience, courage, determination and intention start your journey – God then catapults you to what only He can do.

Grab Your Front Row Seat

Wouldn’t you love to have a front row seat into what God can do with your obedience? The same Jesus that turned water into wine (John 2:1-11), that fed the multitude when He multiplied the fishes and the loaves (Matthew 14:13-21) invites us to operate in His name.  I take literary license when I say He gave us power of attorney (John 14:12) to go be on purpose – honoring and activating our gifts and talents for His purposes and glory.

Someone is dying to hear what you have to say… Go!
