Fireworks to End This Day

Even as I type, I hear fireworks in the distance. I notice that no matter how challenging this year has been, hope remains in many of our hearts. We come together to celebrate the birth of our nation. We celebrate what it stands for –Freedom.

It’s been a quiet, relaxing day complete with a cookout that included the sweetest watermelon I can remember. Quality time is my love language and we certainly had plenty of that today. I especially cherish our talks about our founding fathers – what passion and dedication to what they believed in. Forever grateful…

I end this day with a prayer – it’s all I have for you – it’s the best I have for you.

Most gracious heavenly Father,
I praise and thank you for our nation, our leaders, our diversity, our freedom and for all who gave their all so that we could become the United States of America –One Nation under God. Forgive us for those times when we took our liberties for granted – when we took You for granted.

I thank you for the one who is reading this right now. I pray a blessing over each one, from the top of their head to the very bottom of their feet. Fill them to overflowing with your peace, joy, hope, love… May your very presence push away any fear, uncertainty, doubt, anger – anything that does not serve them. Lord give them eyes to see, ears to hear and a heart that understands all that you have purposed for their lives. And for the one who does not know You, I pray an insatiable thirst to seek You – that You would bring them the spiritual mentors to share the Good News of Jesus Christ.

Lord our nation needs you – Heal our land, our hearts. Silence those that would harm our liberties – your truth. I pray our leaders lay down their personal agendas and come together in agreement to protect our freedom and to end the unrest. Lead us in the way we should go Lord. “…We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on You.” 2 Chron 20:12 AMP

I ask all this in the name of Jesus. Amen
