RV Road Trip Take 4!

Never thought it would happen, but this NYC girl is about to embark on her 4th RV Travel Trailer camping experience this year.  My first camping experience was in the late 60′s – one I felt for sure would be my last.  But then one day…

As is usually the case with me, I started thinking out loud.  Thoughts unfiltered I was overheard by my Paul.  I felt a tug at my heart to visit our kids and grandkids who live in various parts of the country.  (We have a his, mine and somebody else’s family — 12 children and 22  grands.)  I wanted to stay a few days – but not at their place.  Instead, I wanted to stay somewhere where they could feel comfortable coming and going – where we could spend time away from their day-to-day.  I talked about a timeshare setting, possibly a hotel suite setting and yes, I even thought about renting a Camper.  I’m pretty sure I whispered that last option.  A few days later, Paul surprises me with information on RV rentals, etc.  He said “I did some research on your camping idea and have some suggestions.”  Camping idea?  What camping idea? Seriously? Of all the things I said, that’s what he remembers?

Road Trip!

Road Trip!

Fast forward through the purchase of our Gulf Stream 19′ Travel Trailer and 3 short camping trips, here we are.  Tomorrow we leave on a 5 week cross-country adventure.  We will visit all 6 of my husband’s side of the family… in Arizona, Colorado, Indiana and Georgia (our Texas boy will meet us in CO).  In addition we will spend a few days in Anaheim, California for our Take Shape For Life National Convention. Except for a few items, we are all packed and hope to take off at 10 a.m. tomorrow.

What’s unique about this trip is that we are purposing to share our Health Story across America.  We’ll be sharing that on this blog over time, but for now, just know that we believe that our health is key to a successful on-purpose life.  My friend Ria said it best  This is reality at its finest …truth and encouragement all across America with a camper! Losing time, inches, pounds & worries…but gaining wisdom…health….a closer walk w/thee …”   Indeed we are obedient to that call in our hearts to share the good news of our faith and our health journey.

Hope to hear from you as we share. Blessings!
