Expect Extraordinary

From the moment we open our eyes each morning we are presented with a multitude of choices. Over time some of our choices may become habits. Attitude is a choice. We get to choose our outlook for each day – our approach to people or events. Our behavior reflects our attitude.

A Negative Attitude is the key to success.” said no one ever.

What’s your go-to attitude? My nature is to be positive. In fact, I’ve got a negative attitude built-in detector. I cringe when I hear it and I’ve been known to be pretty outspoken about it. Some of my friends might chuckle at that – probably an understatement.  That’s not to say that I don’t experience pockets of negativity, I just don’t stay there for long.

Admittedly, this pandemic-riotous-election year has tested my resolve to show up positive. We are being bombarded daily with divisive and often fear-producing media reports. How do we stay positive despite all that?

Time for an Attitude Adjustment
As a Life Coach, I’m in the business of positive attitude.  No one hires me to help them fail.  May I coach you through an attitude adjustment?  I invite you to consider the following Self-Check. You get to choose how you respond going forward.

-  What’s your starting position, your go-to attitude?  Is your glass half full or half empty?

o   Notice the words you speak.  Do they encourage? Has sarcasm crept into your conversations?
o   How does your body language reflect your beliefs?
o   Actions speak for you.  What message do they convey?

-  Begin with the end in mind… Paint the picture of a positive workplace or a setting of your choice.

o   How do you greet each other?
o   How do you interact?  Collaborate?
o   What do others say about you?

-  Identify your resources.  What encourages and supports you personally? Create a personal development plan that supports your goals. Make sure to include:

o   Spirituality … What do you believe?
o   Health & Wellness… Nutrition, exercise, sleep, stress reduction, all of these influence your attitude.  Where can you improve?
o   Relationships… Who is in your circle of influence?
o   Finances…  What does financial peace mean to you?
o   Accountability… Who will hold you accountable for your goals?

-  Walk it out…  Starting with the decision to choose a Positive Attitude, aware of your starting position, clear on your destination and equipped with your personal development plan… Success is imminent!

Still Not Sure?
Prayer works. If we are willing to listen, God will give us the answers we need. Consider using the questions above as your conversation starter with the Lord.

“Lord, you can scrutinize me.
Refine my heart and probe my every thought.
Put me to the test …” Psalm 26:2 (TPT)

Expect Extraordinary
Attitude is contagious. The Covid19 pandemic has caused us to wear masks. Masks won’t shield others from our attitude. We get to choose how we show up and what we want to spread to others.

A positive attitude causes a chain reaction of positive thoughts, events and outcomes. It is a catalyst and it sparks extraordinary results.” ~ Wade Boggs

There is power in a made-up mind.  Let’s be the catalyst that sparks that chain reaction of extraordinary results. Our contribution matters.   Is this your Call to Action? Is it time for an Attitude Adjustment?
