“A man’s heart plans his way, But the Lord directs his steps.” Proverbs 16:9
Is there such a thing as over-planning? Our journey begins with a very detailed plan (mostly Paul).
Target Departure: Noon; Actual Departure: 5:00 pm. Yes it rained – of course it did. While that was not the reason we were delayed, we certainly would like to think so.
Some brief thoughts about our first two days:
– La Casita Too! We traded our Travel Trailer for a Class C Motor Home – lots more room for family to join us on our adventures. All that room means… more shoes for me and more gadgets for Paul.
- Paul and Maggie working together to get the Kia Soul on the Car Tow Dolly – well, let’s just say we will probably have this down by the end of our journey.
- Beagle Bailey – always a happy camper.
- Our first campsite in Lake City, FL I have affectionately renamed the Florida Mosquito Preserve.
- Wondering… is it legal to take flies across state lines?
- Mystery radio/camera console black-out – after several hours of pushing the on button (fully recognizing the futility of it all), a stop at Camping World where we left a baffled service man, it came back to life. All I could say was “Thank you Jesus!”
- Simplified Lifestyle – many would not refer to travelling in a motor home as “roughing it” but clearly for this NYC girl it does fit the description. I must say I absolutely loved pulling in to a rest area and enjoying our healthy dinner in the comfort of our home-on-wheels.
- Atlanta welcomed us with a beautiful sunset. Wonderful memories of our time there came flooding in and even the traffic didn’t seem to bother us (much).
- Coaching clients while Paul drives – trying to stay focused on the call and not be distracted by… Oh Look! Squirrel!
- With a short rest in Calhoun, GA we are now ready to head north to new territory. Grateful for the travel prayers and for this gift of adventure!
