You! I’m talking to YOU!
How many times do we hear an insightful and compelling message and think about others that should have heard it?
How about those times when we see a need and wonder why someone else is not doing something about it?
How about those tough “life” times, when we ask the question “Why me?”.
Today I want you to consider, “Why not YOU?”
I admit to experiencing all of the above. In fact, I continue to experience them. I just process them a bit differently now.
Years ago, as a leader in my church, I brought up a problem to our Senior Pastor. Looking back, I did an excellent job of outlining the issues and the consequences. Proud of myself I sat back and waited for him to respond. He said,
“What are you planning to do about it?"
Shocked, I was rendered speechless – clearly a milestone moment in my life. Pastor Jack went on to say that when we so passionately focus on a need, it is God’s way of calling us to action. While escalating it to someone in authority might be our first reaction, most times it’s about “you” – “me” the one who felt the nudge to respond.
The need is the call.
Keeping this short today I wonder, what my “call to action” is today. What have I noticed outside of myself that is actually about me?
In my home? With my clients? In my family? In the community? In my home church?
Why not me?
Why not You?

me? GREAT article Maggie. This helps to explain the “How do I know if it’s God Talking” question.
This is excellent. Ta da moments. We need not look far for needs. They are indeed all around us. We do have something to give. We tend to think we have to give big when in fact a small contribution, a kind word, a friendly engagement is all we need. We tend to think that we must do something profound when it is in the small things we do we are remembered more often. Thanks Maggie because giving out of our need is a true test of following the lead of Jesus. Giving to get not to be our motive, but it is the outcome because of bibilical principles.
