No Dish Left Behind… a new standard
What do dishes have to do with Leaders?
Work with me. You'll see.
I've got to believe that there isn't a household where the topic of "dishes in the sink" doesn't come up at least on a monthly basis. Cleaning day rolls around and that kitchen is left spotless. Good intentions say that we are going to work to keep it that way on a daily basis. One day the phone rings just as you were going to put that cup in the dishwasher. Or perhaps you were the first one to see that the dishwasher needs to be emptied, "Oops! No time for that!"
While the situation is not earth shattering, at some point it escalates and begins to rob you of your joy and peace. Suddenly it begins to affect other areas in your life. But… how to change it?
The other night I found myself saying (more like exploding),
"No Dish Left Behind! That's our new standard!"
It made me laugh! Humor works for me. Interestingly enough every time I go to put that cup in the sink I hear those words loud and clear. It worked!
What about you? Are there good habits that seem to have turned into lost habits? Perhaps you set a goal to update your planner on a daily basis or clean off your desk before you go home. This is about those habits that grow into great sources of irritation and lost productivity.
What can you say to yourself to help you get back on course?
No Dish Left Behind!
Will that work for you?

Makes me want to hurry to the sink… and then whip out the To Do list
Too funny Lisa. Get it done!
Doing a little at a time to get things done. Not procrastinating and being distracted. Truly, I can relate to “no dish left behind.” Lately I have been using “create the space”. Keeping things neat, tidy and organize to have more. A concept learnt from “You Were Born Rich” by Bob Proctor.
I like that “create a space. “. We do that for our clients. Why not for us? Thanks for your comment Kaylus!
Some truly interesting information, well written and generally user friendly .
