Ignite: Vision

Lasso the Wind? I think not!

What happens when you try to micro-manage a WIND personality? Lasso the Wind? I think not!

Speaking from personal experience first I laugh, then I am compelled to ask, “Really?” and finally I respond,

Not much!

Don’t know what I’m talking about? Ask me about taking the personality profile that describes “you” using the four elements found in nature. It’s simple and actionable. In a team setting, it releases the power of your most valuable resource, your people.

In the meantime I invite you to consider the WIND in nature.  Have you ever tried to lasso the wind? Wind blows in and blows out… Read the rest of this entry »

Let’s Kick it Up a Notch!

Rise above complacency!

 Life hijacks     >>>     We react.

Sometimes we have a plan that prepares us for the unexpected.

Sometimes, we don't.

Over time we become numb to the changes life brings. We find a routine that works for us. We are lulled into complacency and we stop expecting miracles in our life.

Is this you?

What does your routine look like?
o A few extra bites of food for comfort?
o An occasional shopping spree with money you don't have?
o Surrounding yourself with clutter camouflage?
o Shuffling papers at work; doing enough to just get by?
o Fill in your numbing routine of choice here: _______________________.

You Matter! Let's do something about it!You matter!

Breaking free from “Reactive” patterns!

Embrace a “strategic” approach to Break Free!

Overwhelmed by life’s rapid-fire challenges I found myself reading my own blog posts in search of an old friend. You see, I typically am inspired to write based on my own personal experience. Ah-ha moments are much like old friends – non-judgmental, they gently nudge me to make better choices.

Embrace Breakthrough : from Reactive to Strategic Choices!Last Friday I resurrected one of my blog posts “Out of Order”  published July 2010. I was disappointed to find that I had not continued to blog on how to make more strategic vs. reactive choices. Instead, I walked them out. Over the next few days, I'll share the steps that worked for me. In fact, I’ll be walking it out again.

Without inspiration the best powers of the mind remain dormant. There is a fuel in us which needs to be ignited with sparks. ~ Johann Gottfried Von Herder

Let’s start with this…

What will motivate us to break free? In July of 2010 I blogged about that very question: Ignite the fire that fuels your future.

So, let’s do that! Let’s light the fire!

Your assignment, if you choose to accept it, is to think of a time when you were so focused on your destination, there was nothing that could hold you back.

Notice….

  • How did you spend your thoughts, your time or your resources?
  • Who was influencing you at the time?
  • How clear was your destination?
  • How did you measure success?
  • What habits contributed to your success?
  • What challenges did you face?

Let’s meet back in a couple of days. Feel free to comment on the experience here on the blog or you can track with me on our Called To Action fan page. Let’s make this happen!

From Reactive to Strategic… We coach leaders to greater levels of influence!

Who’s Your Designer?

Who's your designer?

I asked my 3 year old (soon to be 15) grandson, “Adam, what do you want to be when you grow up?” He replied, “Mima, I’m going to be a superhero!” I: “What will you do as a superhero?” Proudly he responded, “I’ll be dressed in white!”

Dressed for success was Adam’s approach to reaching his vision. Apparently he watched a program where the hero was dressed in white. Wouldn’t it be great if life were that easy, that all we had to do was discover the outfit that would guarantee our success?

What about you? Are you looking to other people to define yourself?

Are you still playing dress-up?
