A Better Place to Be…
family and friends this past weekend. This was not always the case for me.
One of my side trips was to the North Georgia Mountains. I was blessed with the vibrancy of the Fall colors and good times with friends. Elton & Gwen provided an overnight stay at their cabin appropriately named “A Better Place to Be”.
Southern hospitality at its best!

Are you Operating in the Red?
A Call to Health…
- Successful Leaders are in the habit of tracking numbers.
Whether it be their personal bank and investment accounts or perhaps business sales and financial numbers… we schedule time to monitor and make decisions based on this information. Operating in the red, is not an option for a strategic leader.
- Successful Leaders know how to take action. When alarms go off in our tracking systems, we know what steps to take and/or where to get help to turn things around and get back on track.
- Successful Leaders know the difference between Reactive and Strategic actions.
Leaders anticipate success by casting a vision, setting goals and implementing systems that report and monitor their progress. Sometimes results surprise us and we are forced to react quickly. Ideally, we have anticipated challenges and have a strategic back-up plan.

It's easily a split second decision point. Think back. I'm guessing there have been a few times when your response was brilliant, conflict averted and it all resulted in positive outcomes. On the other hand, there were those times when maybe, well, we could have done better.
I've got some great success stories in my experience bank and there are some really “not-so-good” stories as well. As a result, I've learned some things which I'll pass on to you today. Read the rest of this entry »
