Leaving a Legacy…

Author Wisdom – life lessons learned – comes to us over time. Grandchildren present us with an opportunity to share what we may not have known as a young parent. More than any other Leadership role I hold today, my role as "Mima" is one I raise to the highest priority; it has opened the love floodgates. It has burned a need in me to take advantage of every opportunity to share those treasured nuggets of wisdom and history – what matters most.

What happens when you try to micro-manage a WIND personality? 
Speaking from personal experience first I laugh, then I am compelled to ask, “Really?” and finally I respond,

Core Values Matter!
Core values matter…. they're not seasonal; they are not branding; they are commitments made in integrity to ourselves and to God.
It is easy for Business Owners to get lost in the latest trend of "what sells". On the internet we look to Google to tell us what people are looking for, what matters most to the majority. Often leaders use their core values as a rallying point for their employees. Some marketers believe that your website should clearly display the truths that your company stands on. A Better Place to Be…
Business & Pleasure… a fine combination!
Atlanta-bound for a Health & Wellness Conference, I planned several visits with
family and friends this past weekend. This was not always the case for me.
family and friends this past weekend. This was not always the case for me. In my past experience as a global business consultant, I took pride in staying totally focused on the task at hand. I would wrap my trips with much preparation upfront and then a thorough time of debriefing on the back end. I efficiently scheduled my flights to arrive at night so that I could get to the office early the next morning.
This lifestyle choice took a toll on my health – one that I am in the process of reversing now. While I am still strategic about trips, my itinerary includes time out to complete the rest of me. And I do mean REST! My optimal health and wellness goals include a balance between work and play.
One of my side trips was to the North Georgia Mountains. I was blessed with the vibrancy of the Fall colors and good times with friends. Elton & Gwen provided an overnight stay at their cabin appropriately named “A Better Place to Be”. 
Scooter welcomed me to the
Fellowship Valley Retreat Center with his guard dog bark and wagging tail. Tina, a good friend and the Operations Manager, surprised me with one of her famous bowls of Chili.
Southern hospitality at its best!
There were so many more that were part of this special time.

Look back… How many loose lends have you left this week? What would tomorrow be like if you wrapped up this week’s loose ends today?
My son and daughter-in-love have taught my Adam (4 yrs old) and Sammi (2 yrs old) how to “Clean Up!” after playtime. I don’t know how well or how consistently this works at their house, but when they spend the day with Mima, those two words are miraculous!
This morning, as I look around my office I am reminded to be the role model not only for my grandchildren but for my clients.
